Our History

ILGRA was founded in 1993 by a group of fabulous friends in Chicago. Illinois.

The first Windy City Rodeo was held February 18-20, 1994, in Chicago at the International Amphitheatre on Halsted. The arena was apart of the Union Stockyards and had hosted everything from gay rodeo to the Beatles in its 65-year-long legacy

We were reseated in 2023 at the IGRA Convention after the association folded during the COVID years.

Our Goals

ILGRA is a non-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to serving our community through education, fundraising, and just having fun!

Rodeos, fundraisers, trail rides, parties - you name it! As a charity organization, our goal is to serve the community by giving back to the community.
